State Police in Indiana say that a man who was on their recently released “Five Most Wanted” list is now in custody.
27-year-old Edward James Barnosky, Jr. of Cherry Tree was taken into custody on Wednesday and taken to Indiana County Jail on charges of flight to avoid apprehension, drug possession, resisting arrest. Police say that the troopers on patrol saw him in Burrell Township walking in the area of Strangford Road and Penn Road at 2:02 in the afternoon. When Troopers saw him, they ordered him to stop, but he dropped his belongings and ran. The Troopers were able to eventually catch up with him and take him into custody. During a search, troopers found a small baggie containing suspected methamphetamine.
Barnosky was wanted on charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment for an incident on the 11th of this month in Cherry Tree. He is now in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for July 1st.
