Two fires were reported on Sunday in Northern Indiana County.
The first fire was reported was on Purchase Line Road in Dixonville at 7:14 in the morning. The call brought out Clymer, Cherrytree, Commodore, Marion Center fire departments along with the Rig Team and Cambria County’s Hope Fire Department’ RIT team. Cherryhill Township firefighters were called in later on to assist, and Indiana, Plumville and Hastings fire departments were called in for standby detail. Initial reports said that the two-story home was fully engulfed by the time firefighters got to the scene. Most of the fire was quickly knocked down thanks to the quick response according to Commodore Fire Department. No word yet on how the fire started.
The other structure fire reported was on Route 119 North in North Mahoning Township. Marion Center, Plumville and Perry Township fire departments along with Punxsy’s EMS and Hazmat teams were called out to what was described in a social media post from Marion Center Fire Department as a working shed fire. The property owner was burning debris beside the shed when he left the fire unattended. A spark from that fire set off the shed fire. Marion Center Fire Department officials say that the shed contained general items like rabbit feed, and no vehicles were in the shed. No injuries were reported.
