The Marion Center School Board will meet tonight, with the main agenda item being the 2020-21 budget. The directors last month approved a tentative budget of $25,779,868, which includes a millage increase equal to the maximum state index of 3.6 percent. Superintendent Clint Weimer said last month that the increase is necessary because a debt of about $600,000 has ballooned to about $1.5 million due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The consideration tonight will be to place the budget on the agenda for next week’s regular voting agenda.
Tonight’s agenda also includes a new math curriculum, the list of district depositories, and several personnel items.
Purchase Line’s board also meets tonight. They have not published their agenda.
