With the uncertainty of the pandemic still in play, another county fair has been canceled. The board of the Westmoreland County Fair last night announced that it will not be having a fair this year.
The fair board, in a Facebook post, cited a lack of clarity from the state government, the loss of sponsors and vendors, the absence of the carnival, insurance matters, health and safety, and financial risk. The fair had been scheduled for August 21st through the 29th.
Cambria County had already canceled its fair, which was scheduled for September 6th through the 12th. The Clearfield County Fair is still on the schedule, for August 2nd through the 8th.
The Indiana County Fair Board will meet this week and may come to a decision on whether or not to hold its fair, which is scheduled for August 30th through September 5th.
The Dayton Fair board has still not decided whether or not to hold their fair, which would be August 16th through the 22nd.
The Cookport and Ox Hill fairs have not announced their plans.
