Governor Tom Wolf signed the five-month budget that was advanced by both the state house and senate on Friday.
The plan provides full-year funding for public school budget lines at current spending levels, as well as for state-supported universities, debt service and school pensions. The budget will also make investments in communities and help restore the economy.
The over $25 billion budget also includes an additional $2.6 billion in federal funding through the CARES act. $50 million of that will go to Fire Departments and Ambulance Services through legislation that was crafted by Senator Joe Pittman.
