The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Thursday that the percentage of recovered Covid-19 cases in the state improved to 65 percent, up one percent from Thursday.
The state offers this definition of recovered: “Individuals who have recovered is determined using a calculation, similar to what is being done by several other states. If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered.”
As of noon today, 5.464 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19, 91 more than yesterday’s total.
The number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Indiana County again remained at 90 in the last 24 hours. Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most confirmed cases with 28. The county has 22 ventilators and two are in use for non-Covid-19 cases.
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports that the number of recorded positive cases increased by one to 444. Armstrong County’s total of positive cases remained at 62. Jefferson County stayed at seven positive cases, and Cambria County remained at 57.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 70,735, an increase of 693 from Thursday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 37 percent of the 70,735 cases.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 70,735 have tested positive in the state, 366,970 have tested negative. In Indiana County 1,367 have tested negative.
