State police say two people were injured in a crash at the intersection of Route 119 and Main Street/Campbell’s Mill Road on Tuesday.
Troopers say the crash happened at 4:20 PM on Tuesday as 76-year-old Robert Ginter of Homer City was driving his pickup truck North on 119 in the right-hand lane and 26-year-old Raymond Winkelman, Jr. of Blairsville was driving his car on Main Street and trying to turn left on 119 South. Ginter ran the red light as Winkelman was turning and the two collided head on. Both vehicles took on heavy front-end damage and were disabled.
Ginter had suspected minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to IRMC for treatment. Winkelman had to be extricated by first responders and was flown to Forbes Regional Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries. State police say they were assisted on scene by Black Lick, Blairsville, Coral-Graceton and Homer City fire departments, along with Citizen’s Ambulance and AHN Air.
