Indiana County Commissioners met Wednesday morning and approved more polling place changes.
The polling place changes approved for next Tuesday’s primary election include:
- Armstrong 1 voters to vote at the Shelocta United Presbyterian Church on South Ridge Road in Shelocta. They will share a polling place with the Armstrong 2 precinct.
- White 6 voters will now vote at the Summit Church on West Pike Road instead of the YMCA. Voters are reminded to use the rear entrance of the church to get to the polling facility.
- Indiana’s 3/1 precinct will move to Zink Hall on Maple Street. Zink Hall is also hosting the Indiana 3/2 precinct.
An updated list of the changed polling places can be found on the county’s website, www.indianacountypa.gov
Indiana County Chief Clerk Robin Maryai said that if voters are going to the polls, they are asked to wear a mask and follow the social distancing guidelines in place. Also, each person will be provided with a pen to sign the voter books and use to cast their ballot, and voters will take the pen with them when they leave.
Maryai also issued some reminders about the mail-in and absentee ballots. This includes making sure the envelope to send the ballot in is filled out correctly.
She also mentioned that if someone has applied to vote by mail, they are not eligible to vote at the polls on June 2nd unless it’s by provisional ballot.
Maryai added that about 9000 people will use the mail in or absentee ballot for this election.
