The Pennsylvania Department of Health reports that, as of 11:15 am today, 5,152 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19, only 13 more than yesterday’s total. On Sunday, the state reported 28, followed by 15 on Monday. The numbers reported in the last week are the lowest since the state began posting death figures in late March.
The number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Indiana County did not change from 89 in the last 24 hours. Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most confirmed cases with 28. The county has 22 ventilators and one is in use for a non-Covid-19 case.
The percentage of recovered cases in the state held at 61 percent of all positive tested Covid-19 cases. The state offers this definition of recovered: “Individuals who have recovered is determined using a calculation, similar to what is being done by several other states. If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered.”
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports that the number of recorded positive cases increased by one to 442. Armstrong County’s total of positive cases increased by one to 59. Jefferson County stayed at seven positive cases, and Cambria County remained at 57.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 68,637, an increase of 451 from Monday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 37 percent of the 68,637 cases.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 68,637 have tested positive in the state, 339,835 have tested negative. In Indiana County 1,231 have tested negative.
