The Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board will meet tonight and the budget for the next school year will be discussed.
Details on the budget have not been publicly released. A budget presentation will be made to the board tonight as one of the first items on the agenda, and later on, the 2020-2021 tentative budget will be up for approval. Last year, the Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board increased taxes by one percent, marking the first tax increase for the district in 12 years.
Also on the proposed agenda tonight, the board will look at authorizing the administration to proceed with the bidding process for a backup generator service agreement. This is in connection with the boiler project.
The board will also vote on purchasing more Chromebooks at a cost not to exceed $144,000 using grant funds, an agreement with Saint Vincent College for graduate assistants, and an agreement for a principal internship at the Blairsville campus for this summer and for the next school year.
