Indiana County road projects will be moving forward this week after a brief interlude for Memorial Day. That includes a second phase of a $4.06 million multi-bridge project on Philadelphia Street in Indiana. Starting on Tuesday, a small box culvert will be replaced on the east end of town, with traffic maintained in both directions on Philadelphia Street from the intersections with 4th and 3rd streets. Access to Cherry Avenue will be closed through October. The box culvert replacement begun earlier this month near 11th Street is part of the same project.
Also this week, PennDOT says alternating lane restrictions will begin on Route 22 in East Wheatfield Township on Tuesday and Wednesday. The work includes expoxy overlays on bridges and the installation of raised pavement markings from West Philadelphia Street in Armagh to the Route 403 Cramer Pike exit. It’s part of a $4.3 million project, with an expected completion date by the end of the week.
PennDOT asks drivers to be alert for signs and flaggers and slow down in work zones.
