It has been a busy weekend for Indiana County’s first responders, and for helicopter crews.
Yesterday was especially active. It started in the early morning with an accident on Route 210 in North Mahoning Township, to which Plumville firefighters responded.
Then after a quiet morning, Pine Township and Vintondale firefighters responded to an accident on Route 403 in Buffington Township just before 2 PM.
Shortly before 4 o’clock, Marion Center firefighters were summoned to Chambersville Road to set up a landing zone, but there is no indication of the type of incident which caused the dispatch of the helicopter.
Commodore firefighters were sent to an accident on Kriner Bottom Road in Grant Township just before 6 PM, and about fifteen minutes later, Marion Center was dispatched to set up a landing zone. They posted photos on their Facebook page of two helicopters that had landed and reported that it was an ATV accident.
At around 11:30 last night, Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were sent to South Stewart Street in Blairsville for a landing zone.
Marion Center was called out once again to set up another landing zone along Skyline Drive in Rayne Township at 12:18 this morning after a motorcycle accident.
