According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health “Death Data” Web page, the number of Indiana County residents who have died from Covid-19 increased by one to a total of five in the last 24 hours.
The state reports that that the number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Indiana County did not change from 89 in the last 24 hours. Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most confirmed cases with 28. The county has 22 ventilators and none are in use.
FIfty nine percent of all positive tested Covid-19 cases in the state have recovered, an increase of two percent from Friday. The state defines recovered: “Individuals who have recovered is determined using a calculation, similar to what is being done by several other states. If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered.”
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports that the number of recorded positive cases increased by one to 437. Armstrong County’s total of positive cases remained at 58. Jefferson County stayed at seven positive cases. Cambria County increased by one to 56.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 66,983, an increase of 725 from Friday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 37 percent of the 66,983 cases. Reported deaths in Pennsylvania attributed to confirmed cases crossed the 5,000 threshold to stand at 5,096, an increase of 112 in the last 24 hours.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 66,983 have tested positive in the state, 321,469 have tested negative. In Indiana County 1,128 have tested negative, two less than what was reported by the state on Friday.
