The Department of Community and Economic Development announced on Friday that Indiana County would receive a part of more than $3 million in Community Development Block Grant funding to provide clean water and improve sewage for communities.
$230,000 will come to Indiana County as a part of the grants, and that money will be used to bring a water source into compliance with federal Environmental Protection Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Act regulations and perform rehab work on a concrete spillway to help it remain in compliance with the state DEP Dam Safety Division Regulations. The news release did not mention where in Indiana County that work will take place.
Money is also headed out to Schuylkill, Greene, Mifflin and Luzerne Counties.
