The Steelers will open individual game ticket sales at 10 AM on Friday for their ten home games this season, eight for the regular season and two preseason games. Fans can buy up to eight tickets per household in any combination for the regular season games, and there are no limits on the preseason games. The tickets will only be available at Ticketmaster.com. The Heinz Field box office will not be open.
As expected, Governor Tom Wolf expressed “general concern” over Ben Roethlisberger getting a haircut and beard trim. The Steelers yesterday posted a video of Big Ben practicing with some teammates and then getting trimmed up at a Sewickley barber shop.
The barber shop’s attorney released a statement last night saying Big Ben and the barber are “close personal friends” and the haircut was a personal favor with no money exchanged. He also said the shop has been closed since the governor shut down all hair salons, which contradicts what was previously said on the shop’s website. The wording on the website was changed yesterday.
The NFL is amending its Rooney Rule after few minority candidates were hired in recent years. Teams will now have to interview at least two minorities for head coaching jobs and one for a coordinator’s post. The league owners tabled a proposal to improve draft pick positioning as incentive to hire more diverse coaches and the front office.
