A man from Carnegie had suspected serious injuries from a collision between a motorcycle and a car on Saturday in West Wheatfield Township.
State police say that the crash happened at the intersection of Route 22 and Clay Pike Road at 2:36 in the afternoon Saturday. 87-year-old Herman Luther of New Florence was trying to make a left turn from Route 22 west onto Clay Pike Road, but did not yield the right of way to an oncoming motorcycle driven by 25-year-old Robert Simms, and the two vehicles collided. Sims was thrown from the motorcycle on impact.
Police say that Simms was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Luther was not injured.
