At Monday night’s Marion Center School Board meeting, the board approved two graduation plans for June 2nd graduation ceremonies.
One of the plans will be for commencement to be held at Dr. John R. Mallino Stadium, while the other will be for ceremonies to be held in the district parking lot. Superintendent Clint Weimer said they are continuing to follow guidelines for social distancing, and will adjust plans if they need to change.
In other business, the board passed the tentative budget by an 8-1 vote. The $25,779,868 budget does contain a tax increase of .4157 mils to 11.9631 mils. Weimer said that he felt the tax increase was necessary as before the Coronavirus crisis, the district already had a debt.
The 2020-2021 budget will be up for final approval on June 23rd.
