State police have issued reports on five recent accidents. Two of them are classified as hit-and-runs.
Police say a pickup truck driven by 36-year-old David Crook of Homer City left the scene after crossing over the opposite lane and hitting a mailbox along Red Barn Road in Center Township at 9:39 yesterday morning. Witnesses gave a vehicle description and license plate number. Crook was cited for failure to give information and render aid.
Someone sideswiped a parked vehicle along Main Street in Burrell Township at around 2:30 Friday morning. Police say the offending vehicle was a red Ford pickup truck, but there were no other clues to help identify the vehicle or its driver.
No one was injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on Leech Avenue in Conemaugh Township. State police say the vehicles were driven by 27-year-old Kristie Hogan of Saltsburg and 35-year-old Michelle Daquila of Clarksburg. Police do not describe what happened. Hogan was cited for driving with a suspended license.
A Cherry Tree woman escaped injury early Friday in a crash along Cherry Tree Road in Montgomery Township. Police say 41-year-old Brenda Lydic’s SUV hit a tree after she lost control on a left-hand curve.
A Punxsutawney man was uninjured in a single-vehicle accident on Route 210, just south of Trade City in North Mahoning Township at about 5 o’clock on Friday afternoon. State police say 36-year-old Ryan Saxfield was driving in heavy rain when his SUV skidded across the road, hit a barbed wire fence, and overturned.
