At Thursday night’s meeting, the Homer-Center School Board unanimously approved the 2020-2021 budget with no tax increases.
The budget tops out at $18,283,194, but included a deficit of $1,405,371. That included $750,000 going to the budget reserve. Acting district business manager David Piper said that the district had a tough time with next year’s budget due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the early resignation of former business manager Michael Kunko. Piper said that, Greg Cessna, another former business manager who retired had left the board in a very good position.
The budget will be out for display today and will be up for formal approval next month.
