The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported today that the number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Indiana County increased for the first time since Saturday, up by two in the last 24 hours to 78 cases. The number of deaths attributed to Covid-19 in the county remained at five.
Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most positive cases with 23, with 132 negatives. The county has 22 ventilators. None are in use.
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports the most positive cases remained the same in the last 24 hours at 419 but the county reported two more deaths, bringing the total to 32. Armstrong County’s total of positive cases increased by one to 56 and deaths remained at five. Jefferson County stayed at seven positive cases. Cambria County increased by one to 45, with one death.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 58,698, an increase of 707 from Tuesday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 37 percent of the 58,698 cases. Reported deaths in Pennsylvania attributed to confirmed cases stand at 3,943, an increase of 137 in the last 24 hours.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 58,698 have tested positive in the state, 244,171 have tested negative. In Indiana County, have 920 tested negative.
