At Monday night’s virtual meeting, the Indiana School Board approved the tentative budget for the 2020-2021 school year.
The budget as presented comes to $56,566,257, with a deficit of $3,044,015. While some steps were made last night to start filling the gap of that deficit, including not filling the positions of roving custodian and confidential secretary for now and offering early retirement packages for AFSCME members, Superintendent Michael Vukovich says that this will take many steps as discussion on the budget continues. He also said that the programs for the students will continue to be the main focus.
In other business, the board approved three voting delegates for the upcoming PSBA Virtual Assembly which will be held in November. Walter Schroth, Julia Trimarchi-Cuccaro and Tammie Blank will represent the board at the conference.
There will be no school board special meeting this month, so the next regular meeting will be June 8th at 7:00 PM
