The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported today that the number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indiana County increased by one in the last 24 hours for a total of 75. The number of deaths attributed to the virus in the county remained at five.
Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most positive cases with 23. In the county, 22 ventilators are available. None are in use.
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports the most positive cases, with four reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 409, and deaths increased by two to 29. Armstrong County’s total of positive cases increased by two to 55, with two deaths, while Jefferson County increased by one to seven positive cases and Cambria County increased by one to 35, with deaths at one.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 51,845, an increase of 888 from Tuesday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 37 percent of the 51,845 cases. Reported deaths in Pennsylvania attributed to confirmed cases increased by 94 to 3,106.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 51,845 have tested positive in the state, 204,495 have tested negative. In Indiana County, have 827 tested negative.
