CENTER TOWNSHIP
State police say a Center Township man is the victim of a phone scam that cost him more than $10,000.
Few details are offered in the case. The victim is a 40-year-old Homer City man who lives along Route 286. It’s termed “theft by deception-wire fraud” and is dated April 23rd. The total loss is $10,740.
GREEN TOWNSHIP
State police say a Commodore man will be charged with strangulation for an assault on a woman last Sunday afternoon at a home along Cookport Road in Green Township. 39-year-old Jason Abrams allegedly threw the 35-year-old woman to the ground and choked her before fleeing the scene.
Abrams is already facing a preliminary hearing next month for a case from March in which he’s charged with theft, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
WHITE TOWNSHIP
Police say an identity thief used a 27-year-old White Township man’s social security number to open a fraudulent Verizon account. The incident is dated March 18th.
