Work is expected to begin on Monday in the area of the interchange of Routes 119 and 286 in White Township, and it will include the closure of two ramps on Wednesday.
The ramp from Northbound 119 to Route 286 will close to traffic starting at 7 AM on Wednesday as will the ramp from 286 to 119 North. This is for a full reconstruction and paving project on the bridge that carries 286 over 119. Traffic along the two closed ramps will be detoured. PennDOT recommends that drivers going North on 119 get off at the Route 110-Creekside Exit and follow Route 110 to Old 119 North. Continue straight onto North 4th Street and make a left on Philadelphia Street, which is Route 286. Veer left to continue on 286, and that’s where the detour ends.
The closures will be in effect until September. Crews from JF Shea construction will work on the $4.42 million project, and it will be conducted in accordance with CDC guidelines and guidance from the State Department of Health.
