The Indiana County Chamber and Leader’s Circle have cancelled the 2020 Leader’s Circle Awards due to concerns resulting from the Covid-19 Stay At Home orders.
In a news release, Leader’s Circle announced that the process for the awards is a lengthy one and with the stay-at-home orders in effect, the time to ensure fairness in nominating and judging has been shortened to a point that there would not be nearly enough time to select nominees in an appropriate manner. They also felt that moving the date to later this year, or to hold a virtual ceremony would not be feasible or fair to the nominees or the committee.
The awards ceremony, which awards the ATHENA award, ATHENA Young Professional award and the Male and Female Civic Leader of the Year, will return next year, with the firm date and time, along with nomination details to be released in 2021.
