Indiana borough police are investigating a reported theft that happened on April 11th at a restaurant in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street. Police say they received the report from a Bob’s Subs employee, and that an unidentified man walked into the restaurant at 2:24 PM and placed an order. While she made the order, the suspect reached into the tip jar and took an unknown amount of tip money. The suspect then waited for their order, and left once he received his food. The suspect was only described as a white male with bluish-green short hair. Video of the incident is being reviewed and if anyone has any information on this incident, call police at 724-349-2121.
Indiana Borough Police are continuing to investigate a case of aggravated assault that happened Monday night on Gompers Avenue. Police were called out at 11:36 PM for a report of a man lying on the roadway. Police found the victim, identified only as a 39-year-old man, lying on the road, unresponsive and with a head injury. A witness told police that the man was physically assaulted and the suspects left before police got there. Evidence on the scene confirmed that. Indiana Borough Police were assisted by IUP Police and Citizens Ambulance.
Charges are pending in a motor vehicle accident Monday evening in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street. Police say at 5:26 PM, they were called to the crash scene. Rachelle Cooper of Clymer was driving her Grand Cherokee east on Philadelphia Street and hit a black Honda Civic parked in front of 570 Philadelphia Street. Both vehicles had to be towed due to the severity of damage. The investigation is continuing.
Indiana Borough Police are looking for someone who stole a handgun from a car parked on South 6th Street. Police say that this happened between March 17th and April 13th in the 300 block of South 6th. If you have any information, call police.
