In Indiana County Court today, the final defendant in the assault of a mentally disabled man last summer on the Hoodlebug Trail is scheduled for Plea Court.
19-year-old Jordan Michael Kinney of Indiana will answer charges of stalking (repeatedly commit acts to cause fear), false imprisonment, simple assault, disorderly conduct (fighting), and harassment.
The charges stem from an attack August 20th on Cody Overdorff of Homer City by Kinney, 18-year-old Corey Blystone of Sagamore, and 20-year-old Dakota Patterson of Indiana. The assault was videoed by 19-year-old Katelyn Lemley of Homer City, and the video went viral after Lemley posted it on social media, sparking outrage by those who saw it and enabling police to build their case. All of the suspects admitted their participation.
Overdorff suffers from Williams Syndrome, which affects his mental and emotional capabilities. He fled to his home after the attack and his mother, Dana Detwiler, went to the trail and confronted the suspects, scuffling briefly with Blystone.
In addition to pleading for the assault, Kinney will plead in a November case in which he is charged with two counts of false reports, one noting he falsely incriminated another and the other that the incident he reported did not occur.
Blystone and Patterson pleaded guilty in February to stalking, false imprisonment, and simple assault. Lemley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to stalking, conspiracy to false imprisonment, and disorderly conduct. All three are scheduled for sentencing on April 27th.
