Clymer Borough Council met Tuesday night for the first time via teleconference and discussed the budget for this year and how the Covid-19 pandemic may affect it.
Borough Manager Rob Barto said that the borough’s financial situation is fine and the borough’s budget should still be fine assuming that the pandemic goes to the end of May, but he did worry about the loss of earned income tax.
But as far as the fire department goes, Clymer Fire Chief John Gromley said that they expect to lose $30,000 or more in fundraising revenue, and their training has been down as well.
In other business, it was announced that the annual Clymer Days festival has been cancelled, and spring cleanup for the borough may be put on hold as they are awaiting word if dumpsters will be provided by Waste Management.
