The state Department of Health yesterday launched a new website that gives real-time county-by-county coronavirus data.
The Hospital Preparedness Dashboard reports the number Covid-19 cases, deaths, available ICU beds, available medical beds, isolation rooms, and ventilators, including ventilators in use for Covid-19 patients and for non-Covid-19 patients. They also published a map of Covid-19 testing sites, although with the advisory that some testing sites need a doctor’s prescription.
For Indiana County, the dashboard shows twenty-one cases of Covid-19, zero deaths, two adult ICU beds available, sixty-two medical beds, thirty-one ventilators available, four ventilators in use for non-Covid-19 patients and none in use for Covid-19 patients.
Interestingly, while the report shows twenty-one positive Covid-19 patients diagnosed in Indiana County, the dashboard does not say how many have required hospitalization or are in the hospital now. Plus, the testing site map is confusing, showing only one site, which it names as “Indiana Urgent Care Center”, but listing the company name as Med Express on Oakland Avenue, not the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
