At the virtual Penns Manor School Board meeting Thursday night, the board approved a rating of proficient for Superintendent Derren Johnston.
The rating was explained by John Hardesty, who lead the committee for Johnston’s review.
Based on their review, Hardesty said that Johnston got high marks.
In other business, Johnston addressed the recent announcement by Governor Tom Wolf that schools would remain closed for the remainder of the school year. He said that they would continue with the education model of enrichment and review. He stressed that while the fourth quarter would not be graded, he would like to see everyone make a good faith effort to keep up with the educational process.
Chromebooks are being made available for those who need them, and those who do not have internet access will have packets mailed out to students soon.
