First responders had another busy day on Tuesday with several calls, including two fire calls in Indiana County.
Blairsville Fire Department was called out for a fire at Chaek’s Photography at 4:18 PM Tuesday afternoon. Fire officials report that the fire was actually a small one started by a laser cutter at the photography store on East Market Street. Those at the business were able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher just before crews arrived. Blairsville Fire Department stayed on scene to ventilate the building. Black Lick, Coral-Graceton, Homer City and Indiana Fire Departments were quickly sent back after Blairsville fire crews arrived. Damage was minimal.
Few details are available right now on a fire late last night in Conemaugh Township. Saltsburg, Iselin/West Lebanon, Tunnelton and Bell Township fire departments were called out at 11:15 PM for a structure fire on Pauline Drive.
Emergency crews have also been called out for storm-related damage this morning, as Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments were dispatched at 2:07 this morning for utility lines down on Palmerton Road. Saltsburg Fire Department was called out at 6:45 this morning for the same reason on Nowrytown Road in Conemaugh Township. The lines are believed to be down due to the storms that went through the area last night.
