The Indiana Area School Board will meet remotely tonight, with an agenda that includes consideration of a couple of construction projects, and the ICTC budget.
Among the items the directors will take up is a motion to form a workgroup to research and write a grant proposal for USA Football to help pay the costs of replacing the stadium turf at Andy Kuzneski Field. The original turf on the field was estimated to last eight to fourteen years. It’s been eleven years since it was installed. The original turf surface cost about $560,000.
The school board will also consider accepting a rebid for the HVAC system at the new east Pike entranceway, and will vote on approval of a general contractor and contractors for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC for the Life Skills Classroom/Chairlift project.
The board will also vote on the proposed budget of the Indiana County Technology Center. Indiana area’s share of the budget will amount to an estimated $6,793,029, a 2.56 percent increase over this year’s budget, with the exact amount determined by enrollment.
The Purchase Line School Board has a work session scheduled tonight. They have not published an agenda.
In a letter to district residents on Friday, Superintendent Shawn Ford said the district’s teachers will be contacting families this week asking about technology that will help in the planning of the next step in Purchase Line’s continuity of education plan.
