It was a busy Sunday afternoon for Indiana County’s emergency responders, who were called into action for several different incidents, including a serious ATV accident.
The first call of the day was a brush fire along Old Gate Road in Cherryhill Township. Firefighters from Cherryhill Township handled that call.
Iselin firefighters were dispatched for a gas leak along Phillips Road in Young Township later in the afternoon.
Glen Campbell firefighters were sent to the ATV accident on Wilgus Road in Montgomery Township a few minutes later, at 1:50 PM. State police have not yet issued a report, but Cherry Tree and Commodore firefighters were dispatched to set up a helicopter landing zone about a half-hour later.
Commodore firefighters also fought a brush fire along Abel Road in Grant Township. They reported it was about a quarter of an acre and was quickly contained.
Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were dispatched last evening for a miscellaneous incident on North Walnut Street in Blairsville. No details were provided.
