Businesses have until 5:00 today to submit their waiver requests from Governor Tom Wolf’s non-life-essential business shutdown order.
Two weeks ago, Governor Wolf issued the order to shut down all non-essential businesses on March 21st in an effort to stem the spread of coronavirus. The initial order was then postponed two days due to the high volume of waiver requests. As of Tuesday, the state received the state has received over 32,000 waiver requests.
Businesses must remain closed until they receive word from the Governor’s office if their waiver request was approved. If they applied before and did not receive a result, they do not need to re-apply.
Since the start of the Governor’s order, 136 businesses across the state have been issued warnings by state police, but no citations have been filed yet. In the State Police Troop A region, 21 total businesses were issued warnings.
