The Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board met last night and had high praise for those working to deliver meals to students.
The district has been delivering meals by utilizing Smith Bus Company to deliver the meals made by the district’s cafeteria workers. Volunteer teachers also helped with the deliveries. Board President Rick Harper expressed pride in the work that they have been doing.
That program will continue and more information about it is on the district’s website, www.b-ssd.org
In other business, Superintendent Jeffrey Soles said that an educational contingency plan will start today. They want to get teachers in on Thursday and Friday so that they can close out the third grading period and start setting up plans for flexible instructional days and develop a technology plan, including school Chromebook distribution to students who were using Chromebooks. A technology survey is on the website, and parents of district students are encouraged to complete the survey to help put together a distance learning plan.
