The average price of a gallon of gas has gone down dramatically in the wake of coronavirus.
Triple-A reports that the average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is now at $2.31 a gallon, a drop of twelve cents from a week ago and a drop of 36 cents from this time last month. Gas prices are trending downward because of the growing concerns over coronavirus. While the weather is warmer and people typically drive more this time of year, people are practicing social distancing and staying at home due to orders issued by governments and health departments. That means less traffic on area roads, and less demand at the pumps, which means prices will go down for the foreseeable future.
For Indiana County, the average cost of a gallon of gas is also at $2.31 a gallon. Gas prices in Indiana Borough, White Township and Homer City areas range from $2.25 a gallon to $2.33 a gallon. Gas prices in Blairsville range from $2.25 to $2.29 a gallon while Clymer’s gas prices are at $2.19 a gallon.
