The State Supreme Court yesterday ordered all courts across the state to be closed to the public for non-essential functions through at least April 3rd.
The Indiana County Courthouse is open but with restrictions. Sheriff’s deputies are controlling access, with a particular list of court proceedings to guide them. Those proceedings are listed on signs at the building entrances and people who believe they meet those conditions are invited to call the sheriff’s office at 465-3930. Each request will be reviewed by the courts, which will have the final say.
As to other county offices at the courthouse, you should call 465-3800 to determine if they are open.
As of today, the Indiana County Treasurer’s office is closed to the public. You can mail dog license, small games of chance license, bingo license, hotel tax payments, and any other requests care of Treasurer Kimberly McCullough to: Indiana County Treasurer’s Office, 825 Philadelphia Street, Indiana PA 15701.
