Indiana County Commissioners have released their own statement concerning the Coronavirus and how the county is dealing with it.
Commissioners Michael Keith, Robin Gorman and Sherene Hess in a joint news release say they, like other groups are monitoring the latest information from the CDC and the PA Department of Health, and they are also in contact with the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, who will help out in monitoring activities of other county governments.
The commissioners say that facilities management and custodians are conducting disinfecting sweeps of all common areas and rest rooms at the court house several times a day, with regular cleaning happening after the close of business. Hand sanitizers will be put in place at public entrances at their buildings. They also announced that the county’s personal care facility, The Communities at Indian Haven, has restricted public visitation until further notice, and the county jail has also restricted public visitation until further notice.
The county has also formed a Covid-19 planning team and they will meet at least once a week to assess the county’s response and provide recommendations to the Commissioners regarding continuity of operations.
