The Marion Center School District will be closed to students next Monday for a special in-service day to prepare for a possible future closure due to Coronavirus.
In an announcement on the district’s website, Marion Center School District announced that they will have an in-service day on March 16th to allow teachers to prepare home-study packets in the event that there would be a future closure of school due to Coronavirus concerns. The district said they want to be proactive in their planning to make sure that students can continue learning, even if they have to close. Students will return to class on Tuesday.
There have been no reported cases of Coronavirus in Indiana County. Superintendent Clint Weimer sent a letter home to parents detailing the preventative measures the district is taking, including cleaning frequently-touched surfaces, encouraging frequent hand-washing, avoiding sharing items like drinks, un-packaged food, and avoiding public places if they are sick.
