Clymer Borough Council celebrated the 99th birthday of one of their council members and heard about some philanthropic efforts from the American Legion.
During the meeting, the council acknowledged the 99th birthday of councilman Joe Krolick. Indiana County Commissioner Michael Keith presented Krolick with a plaque to commemorate the occasion. Krolick served Clymer for eight years as the police chief, mayor for twelve years and as a council member for 14 years. Krolic said he was honored to serve the community and his country.
In other business, council approved employee raises, amended the non-uniform pension and police pension plans administered by the police retirement system. Borough president Louis Tate also thanked the American Legion for the recent $1000 donation to be used for community groups. Police chief Louis Sacco said in his report that he also met with the legion and submitted a letter to request funding for body cams for the police department.
