The Indiana School Board met last night and approved three contracts for the East Pike entrance way Project.
The project’s goal will be to improve safety and security for the entrance to the elementary school. Contracts were approved for CNC Construction for general contractor duties, Baer Services for plumbing, and A&MP Electric for the electrical work. A fourth contract has yet to be awarded, as the HVAC system was to be redesigned and put out for bid once again. The contract went out to bid on Monday.
In other business, the board approved the job descriptions for an Elementary STEM teacher and MTSS, or Multi-Tiered System of Support teaching position for the 4th and 5th grades. Superintendent Michael Vuckovich talked about what the MTSS teacher would do.
He said that with the elimination of an elementary BCIT and two elementary teaching positions, there will be no extra cost to the taxpayers for the two new positions.
