The State Department of Health has released new information on how they are handling Coronavirus mitigation efforts.
The Department of Health announced Friday morning that two cases of Coronavirus were found on the eastern side of the state, and since then, the state lab in Exton has increased their capacity to test cases from 25 to 150 a day. The Health Department says this is an indicator of how ready the state is to expedite testing cases deemed necessary due to symptoms.
Few details have been released on the two individuals who were infected by the Coronavirus, except to say that one lives in Delaware County and the other is in Wayne County. Their symptoms are not severe and both individuals are currently recovering at home, where they have been quarantined.
People are reminded that the best ways to prevent the spread of Coronavirus are to:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol- based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Cover any coughs or sneezes with your elbow, not your hands.
- Clean surfaces frequently, such as counter tops, light switches, cell phones and other frequently touched areas.
- Contain if you are sick, you should stay home until you are feeling better.
