A gas leak at a home in Burrell Township Sunday morning turned into fire in the kitchen.
Indiana County 911 initially dispatched Black Lick and Blairsville fire fighters to a home on Old William Penn Highway near Ridge View Avenue for a reported gas leak. Black Lick fire department reports the gas leak turned into a small fire when crews got there. The fire was limited to the stove and a 4-foot area behind the stove. The fire was knocked down quickly and crews were on the scene for about 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.
When it was reported that the leak turned into a fire, Coral Graceton Fire Department, the RIG team, the Hazmat team and Citizen’s Ambulance were dispatched, but those companies were sent back.
