A Coral man is charged in connection with an incident that started late Saturday night where he allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend and shoot police who were on-scene.
State troopers say they were called out to a home at 89 Ash Street Rear in Center Township at 11:53 Saturday night for an incident where the victim, an unnamed 28-year-old Coral woman, said that 28-year-old Jacob Matthew Bloomberg assaulted her and threatened to kill her and hurt himself. He also allegedly fired two rounds from an AR-15 rifle inside the home. She was able to get out and met with responding troopers.
After establishing a perimeter, troopers called Bloomberg, and during the call, he threatened to shoot any police that came to his residence. Troopers noticed that he was breaking things in the home. He also leaned out a window with his gun and threatened troopers again, saying he had a lot of guns and explosives. The State Police Special Emergency Response Team was called in, along with troopers from Ebensburg and Greensburg stations, and negotiations resulted in Bloomberg leaving the home and going into police custody.

When police searched the house, they found an AR-15 rifle, a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Bloomberg was charged with terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault, and harassment, and at his arraignment on Sunday, he was ordered to Indiana County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. A subsequent criminal complaint was filed earlier today with charges of prohibited offensive weapons, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A preliminary hearing is set for March 16th in front of District Judge Christopher Welch.
