Genevieve Mae (Watson) Fairman, 90, of Creekside, PA (Washington Twp.) passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
The daughter of Arthur D. Watson and Bessie (McGinnis) Watson; she was born in Apollo, PA on May 4, 1929.
Genevieve was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church in Creekside, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a Vacation Bible School teacher, as well as a member of the Hospitality and Kitchen Committee. She was also a member of the Indiana-Armstrong Builders Association, the Pennsylvania Farmers Association, and Bell Grange.
Some of her hobbies include macramé, crocheting, quilting, and she was a talented seamstress and cake designer.
Genevieve worked alongside her husband as the co-owner and operator of both Fairman’s Constructions and Fairman Rentals, along with managing Fairman Christmas Tree Farm.
She is survived by her five children, Donald A. Fairman of Spencerport, NY, Frank L. Fairman (Linda) of Indiana, Connie E. Bytner (Michael) of Creekside, Agnes I. Kowchuck (John) of Creekside, and Paul L. Fairman (Kelly Mitchell) of Creekside; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years Lowry A. Fairman who passed away in 2009; a brother, Robert A. Watson; and two sisters, Ruth I. Dilts, and Betty L. North.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until the time of the funeral services at 4:00, Saturday at the Center Presbyterian Church in Creekside, 735 Indiana Rd., Creekside, PA 15732. Services at 4:00 will be presided over by Donna Kanyan. A dinner at the church will follow immediately after the services.
Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana will be private.
Services are being handled by Robinson-Lytle Funeral Home, Indiana.
