PennDOT has announced that work on the Smicksburg Bridge that carries Goodville Road over the Little Mahoning Creek will start soon.
Work will begin on Wednesday, March 4th. The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction, and motorists will follow a detour that takes them onto Route 954, Windows Road, and Hoover Road before rejoining Goodville Road. The 291-foot span was originally built in 1960, and has been on the structurally deficient bridge list.
Mekis Construction of Fenelton is taking on the $2.4 Million project, which will be completed in mid-September, weather permitting. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
