Members of the Veterans Parsons Board of Directors and the PTX Military Fraternity will give the public an idea of what homeless veterans experience on a daily basis as they hold a 24-hour homeless sleep-out.
From 8 AM today until 8 AM on Sunday, members from both organizations will camp out in tents and cardboard boxes and live off of donations of food and drink, much like what homeless veterans go through every day. The sleep-out will be held at the Walmart on Oakland Avenue. Kevin Lazor with the Veterans Parsonage said that this year, the sleep-out will be dedicated to someone who was a great help for the parsonage.
On top of the donations of food and drink for those taking part, monetary donations, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products will also be collected for the veterans parsonage.
