Clymer Borough Council honored one of their own for over 60 years of military, law enforcement and public service at their meeting last night.
Councilman Joe Krolick, who will soon turn 99 years old, was honored last night with a plaque to honor his years of service. He said that he was in a church pew when the bombs hit Pearl Harbor on December 7th of 1941. After serving in the South Pacific during World War II, he entered law enforcement and served eight years as the chief of police in Clymer, 12 years as the mayor and 14 years as a council member. State Association of Boro Township Executives Thomas Grambling and Chris Craft were on hand to present Krolick with his plaque.
Clymer Borough Council President Louis Tate says it’s a well deserved honor.
In other business, council heard from Police Chief Louis Sacco concerning the implementation of the parking enforcement policy and procedure. Sacco says his department will continue coverage in the mornings for traffic enforcement and school bus safety.
