The Indiana County Fire Chiefs Association is once again offering scholarships to college-bound students who are active in community service.
This marks the second year for the scholarships, which are managed through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies. The Indiana County Fire Chiefs Association Student Scholarship was established in 2017 and recognizes two students who “work diligently to make their community a better place.”
The winners of these scholarships will receive $500 each. They’re awarded to high school seniors pursuing college and to college students up to third-year students. The students must live within the service area of any of the 28 volunteer fire departments that serve Indiana County residents and special considerations will be given to those who volunteered with their fire company. Non-traditional students are also encouraged to apply for the scholarship.
An application has been set up online here. Those interested can also contact CFA Donor Services Associate Marisa Lehman at 814-225-1266.
