The slick road conditions could be the cause behind multiple accidents that have already been reported this morning by Indiana County 911.
The first accident that was reported this morning was a crash on Fire Academy Road in Center Township at 5:44 this morning. Officials said that a vehicle slid off the road at Fire Academy and Luciousboro road. Two people were in the vehicle at the time, but no injuries were reported.
The Commodore Fire Department was called out at 6:10 this morning for a crash on Route 286 East in Center Township. Initial scanner reports said that a vehicle rolled over, but there was negative entrapment.
A third crash was reported in Cherryhill Township, as Cherryhill Township Fire Department, Citizens Ambulance and State Police were called out at 6:14 this morning for a crash on Route 553 near Overman and Pine Tree Road. Scanner reports say that two vehicles were involved and one of them was overturned. It’s not known if anyone was injured in that incident.
A fourth was reported at 6:29 AM at Eldersridge Road in Conemaugh Township. Saltsburg fire department, life-stat ambulance and state police were called out at that time.
Another crash was reported at 6:51 this morning with Plumville and Marion Center fire departments called out to Route 954 North in South Mahoning Township involving a pickup truck. Citizens Ambulance and State Police are also on the scene.
Two crashes were reported at 7:00. One was on Route 56 and Power Plant Road in East Wheatfield Township. Armagh Fire Department was dispatched at that time. At the same time, Indiana County 911 reported a crash on Route 259 in West Wheatfield Township. Bolivar Fire department was dispatched.
And another crash was reported on Airport Road in Cherryhill Township. Citizens ambulance and Clymer fire department were dispatched.
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 1:00 this afternoon. The National Weather Service says that drivers should slow down and use caution while driving.
